History created on 22nd May,2006 for RPF but found to be only on paper...not implemented??· Honourable President of India Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam has presented the Presidential Colours to the Railway Protection Force and spoke... to make rail journey safer and secure to the 12 million people including the tourists who are making use of the rail services every day.
· The Hon’ble President reiterated:
· (1) the need to remove the division of responsibility between the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF);
· (2) for empowering the RPF with legal powers to tackle all cognizable offences under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Special Acts so that there is a single point of responsibility for tackling crimes against railway passengers."
+++· • What does it makes a difference ( to rail passengers) even if the RPF is made to work under the control and command of the Ministry of Home Affairs like that of the CISF or other CPOs..?)
· • What does it makes a difference (to the passengers) even if the RPF and the GRP are merged and unified to make a single and unified Indian Railways Police Force and made to work under the control and command of the Ministry of Railways? or direct under the State Governments duly amending the required provsions?
*** The RPF may not loose any previleges and perks and even there after also can continue like the GRP as is now working???/
???. Can you share your views for keeping this vision of the Honble President side lined!!!
